De-clutter, De-clutter, De-clutter
To get your house ready to show go room to room and remove the clutter. Donate or store items out of sight. Declutter all visible areas first then clear out cupboard, closets and drawers. Give your home an open and clean feeling for potential buyers. Remove artwork and minimize furniture and knick-knacks to give the potential buyer the ability to vision their own belongs in your home.

Clean and touch up areas
Scrub and touch up the paint on walls, doors and baseboards. Remove or cover any scuff marks or blemishes.

How’s your curb appeal?
First impressions are everything. Does your home stand up to other homes in your neighborhood? Make sure your siding or wood is clean outside. Spruce up the yard with a few plants or flowers in colorful pots. Be sure the clutter and yard debris, like leaves are removed daily. Clean the driveway and walkway.

Clean everything
Make your home shine! Pay attention to the bathrooms and kitchen. Use a cleaner that has a good clean scent, like lemon or pine. Use glass cleaner on bath and kitchen fixtures and faucets to remove any spots. Be sure to clean behind places like the sink faucet and toilet. Clean windows, window sills and screens. Vacuum all carpets and rugs and mop all hardwood and tile floors. Be sure your home smells good, use odor removal spray on furniture and pet areas. Remove trash from all cans. Be sure to have a lot of lighting throughout the home and keep blinds and curtains open to allow in natural light.

Fix any minor items
Repair any cabinet handles or door knobs that are loose. Replace or fix and window locks that are broken. Replace any light bulbs that aren’t working. Change out any outlet or switch covers that are cracked. Fix any leaking faucets.
